The Victoria Society for Humanistic Judaism provides a home for cultural Jews who want to retain their identity with their Jewish heritage culture and customs within a non-theistic environment. Our community meets twice a month, usually on Saturday afternoons at the Jewish Community Centre, in Victoria, for discussions on a variety of topics relevant to Humanism, as well as celebrations of Shabbat, Havdalah and major Jewish holidays. We create rich secularly meaningful programs for Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, Chanukah, Succoth, Tu B’Shevat, Purim, Passover, Yom Hashoah and Shavuot.

Service to members and their families include life cycle events such as baby naming ceremonies, marriages, funerals & celebrations of life. We have a new children's educational program as well, and contribute fully in the Victoria Jewish community, in a variety of initiatives.

In Secular Humanistic Judaism, a Jew is a person of Jewish descent or any person who wishes to identify with the history, culture, ethical values, community and fate of the Jewish people. In that vein, we welcome anyone who wishes to be part of our community.
