The Secular Jewish Humanists of Los Angeles meet the third Saturday of each month at 11:20 a.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church Cottage, located at 1260 18th Street, Santa Monica, California, 90404. We begin each meeting with a freylekhe coffee and cake time. Our programs feature either a speaker or video presentation dealing with current events, community affairs or vital Jewish topics, followed by discussion. The meetings also include business issues, with reports by appropriate committee members.

Interspersed with our meetings are holiday celebrations at the Cottage or homes of members. With an inspiring Haggadah and a delicious meal, 40 members and friends enjoyed our annual festive Seder celebration this year. Between meetings, our video/music committee presents films and musical programs at the homes of members. We also have a movie group that meets each month and discusses a current movie of significance.

For the forthcoming Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur holidays, we will feature non-traditional readings and music by a choral group. As usual, we will enjoy apples dipped in honey for a sweet New Year.
